Christian Diaz brings a lifetime of animal experience and a visionary approach to avian product innovation. As the Vice President of Avian Development at Wingz, he leads with deep expertise in bird behavior, responsible breeding, and species-specific enrichment — a foundation built from decades of hands-on care, competition, and community leadership.

Raised on a ranch in Mexico, Christian’s journey began in the fields and nest boxes of his grandparents' land, where flocks of wild Amazon parrots shared space with chickens, ducks, geese, and turkeys. “My earliest memories are collecting eggs with my grandmother and hand-feeding injured parrots we rescued together,” he recalls.

His passion evolved through 4-H and FFA in the U.S., where he earned leadership roles and the prestigious California State FFA Proficiency Award in Small Animal Production & Care. He later studied Animal Science (Pre-Vet) at Colorado State University, working at ARDEC and joining CSU’s wool and meats judging teams.

Over the years, Christian’s career has crossed species, continents, and industries — from livestock consulting with Elanco Animal Health to founding an aquarium design business, to building one of the most recognized flocks of White American Serama Bantams in the country. His exhibition poultry have earned top honors at national shows and are featured in the ABA Bantam Standard. He holds the APA’s Master Exhibitor distinction for White Leghorns and has apprenticed under elite judges as part of the ABA poultry judge certification program.

Christian’s avian expertise spans more than the show hall. He is a life member of the Finch Society of San Diego, an avid softbill keeper, and a passionate advocate for parrot enrichment and behavioral wellness. His flock includes a Blue & Gold Macaw, Yellow Nape Amazon, and Eclectus — the inspiration behind Busy Beak, a content and enrichment brand he founded to share expert insights through podcasts, videos, and toys.

“I believe in creating products that reflect how birds actually live — how they forage, play, and connect,” he says. “Enrichment isn’t an extra — it’s essential.”

In addition to birds, Christian is an accomplished breeder and exhibitor of Xoloitzcuintli dogs and a seasoned pet travel entrepreneur through his companies Signature Pet Transport and PetAirX. He has also bred rare amphibians and reptiles, and is active in herpetological circles.

At Wingz, Christian channels his rare combination of practical animal care, competitive breeding, and entrepreneurial insight into product development, breeder collaboration, and community engagement. “Every perch, toy, and cage we design has a purpose — to make life better for birds and their people.”
